A couple of weeks ago I ran my second Mystic River Valley Sprint Triathlon (1/2 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3 mile run). In preparation I ran and biked a few times, occasionally with Seamus who loves to run. Gone are the days when I can push him in the jogger stroller while he snoozes contently for an hour or so. Now he wants to get out and run with me. I'm all for it as it a) inspires him to run and be active and b) gives me a bit of a break (at least for the time being...he's getting really fast).
The day before the event I took the boys to Target and bought them some new sneakers which Seamus refers to as his "Super Fast Running Sneakers" each time he puts them on. So despite the lousy weather, Seamus, Thomas and Steve were out cheering me on which was awesome. As we did last year Steve passed the boys to me to help me run in the last 30-40 yards. It was a great day... Since Seamus seems to be into running we plan to enter him into his first race (The Battle of Stonington) this August. Can't wait!
I love this! So cute - I'm glad you are back blogging again!
